God works in mysterious ways.
You've probably heard this phrase before plenty of times. Maybe your grandmother used to say it when you were a kid and it just stuck in your mind. No matter where you've heard it, perhaps the only way sometimes that you can describe something so impossible, something so coincidental, or something so terrible is to say that, "God works in mysterious ways."
Well, He does.
Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
-Isaiah 45:15
Hmm...why?
Oh, I don't know, does God want us to be confused, lost, angry, or bitter with Him? Oh no, God forbid!!! That's something the Lord would NEVER want for us. The enemy however, well, that's a totally different story.
If you believe in Heaven, then you have to believe in hell. And if you don't believe in hell, please don't be mistaken...the Bible clearly states that it is REAL. Hell is the Second Death as described in The Book of Revelations and it is said that the only way to escape death is through Jesus.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
-Romans 6:23
Therefore, God is not looking to make it any harder for us to get to Heaven...God is granting us the grace and the mercy to enter into eternal life with Him - but under ONE condition. You must believe in JESUS.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
-St. John 3:16
But how? If it's that easy, why aren't more people doing it? Why are there so many people unwilling to bring JESUS into their lives. Are they scared? Afraid? Do they feel like they don't need JESUS? Oh God forbid. We all NEED HIM.
It's not so much a matter of money, careers, relationships, residence, location, or anything of this Earth - it's a matter of life and death. One famous phrase I hear all the time is that there are two guaranteed things in life: death & taxes.
Well, thanks to JESUS, death is not a guarantee if you repent and look to Him as your Savior. But again, that's hard for some people. People are raised differently. We're all from different backgrounds and cultures and it's just not that straightforward...it's kind of a mystery.
Ah, yes, a mystery. There's that word again - or part of it. God working in mysterious ways. I'm here to share a belief of mine regarding this that I'm pretty sure lines up with everything God seeks to teach us. If we are to fully understand and fully comprehend how God works and why He does certain things...then we must exercise FAITH.
Faith in what?
Faith in God. In what He's doing. He's working and He's not giving up on ANY of us!!! Think about what you put your faith in everyday. I'll give you an example of some of the things that people put their trust in...
1. The chef
2. The pharmacist
3. The doctor
4. The engineers that built King de Ka
5. That website that you weren't sure you should give your info to but did anyway
Sometimes you have no choice but to just believe...and have faith. Sometimes, if you don't exercise your faith - you'll never be able to do anything. Do you really stand there over the guy inspecting your car at the autobody and see if he's checking everything he should be? I'd say more than half-the-time, "No." It's impossible to live life without some faith. So if you can faith that your Baconator from Wendy's is actual beef and not some other strange meat, then you can surely believe in God. After all, it only takes a little bit of faith...
And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
-Luke 17:6
Might sound ridiculous but let's face it - that chef isn't going to kill the cow in front of you. And God isn't going to show you His tool kit and blueprints all the time. Sometimes, I see what God is doing. I can literally point out and see the direction God is taking me in. When I left my college satirical publication early last Fall, I was not oblivious to what He was doing. He wanted me to leave and He said my time had come to invest my writing elsewhere. God won't always tell you ahead of time why...but he's going to surely make it work for your benefit in the end - IF you have FAITH in HIM.
Who?
JESUS. THE FATHER. THE HOLY GHOST. GOD.
God is not going to let you down if you put your faith in Him. I have seen things that I believe are miracles happen in my life through prayer and through belief. And through understanding of the gospel and the Word of God, I have seen so many new great opportunities come one's way.
So if you lose your job tomorrow and you thought it was the right plan for you - remember, God has a better one in mind. Maybe the plan is to get that job back, or maybe it's a new one just around the corner. But as long as you are trusting in God and seeking Him for the solution, you will NEVER be disappointed. Perhaps, you'll see it as a bit of a mystery at first - but keep your eyes on JESUS my friends, and soon enough that mystery will be revealed.
God bless and have a wonderful day!
